These 30 short compositions are designed to exercise many common performance problems and challenges- from non-typical scales and rhythms, to extremes of range, to shaping a phrase or placing breaths in long, continuous passages. They are intended to be fun and varied, introducing players to the wide variety of musical styles a player might face in the modern performing world of classical music. Above all they are intended to be real music, performable in recitals as well as examination juries or lessons.
