In the military, every service member uses certain resources, offices and services when checking in to an installation, conducting day-to-day operations and checking out. In college, these same resources, offices and services exist, but they might go by a different name. Here’s a list of some of these common translations, along with links for more information.

SICK BAY/SICK CALL = Health Center

CHOW HALL, DFAC, MESS = Dining & Culinary Services facilities include: The Commons and Old Main Market (Anderson University Center), Tahoma Market and Café (Columbia Center), Kelley Café (Morken Center ), and The Nook Expresso (Hauge Admin)

BASE/POST EXCHANGE = Old Main Market

EDUCATION CENTER = Academic Assistance Center

CHAPEL = Campus Ministry

CHAPLAIN = University Pastor

POST COMMANDER = University President (Allen Belton)
