Become a Tutor
Hiring for the 2022-23 academic year is complete. If you are interested, tutoring positions for the following year will open up in March 2023.
Academic tutors:
-
Serve students in a meaningful way by helping them do well in their classes
-
Receive National College Reading & Learning Association tutor certification (great for your resume!)
-
Develop excellent transferable job skills and professional work habits
-
Get paid — while you are training and when you are working
-
Master the foundational material in your field — and gain an advantage when taking professional or qualifying exams (NCLEX, CPA, MCAT, etc.)
You don’t need previous experience — just a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 3.3 GPA in your tutoring area.
To apply, visit the Student Employment Website. Click the drop-down menu for Students, select Job Search, and follow instructions. It is a campus job, so a resume is required. Please consider meeting with a career counselor to tighten up your resume before you submit it, or even to chat about application letters and interviews – a free service for you at PLU!
