What’s one thing every prospective PLU student should know?
PLU is an extremely unique place in all senses! You’ll find students who are welcoming in every way possible, faculty and staff that are eager to serve and help you whenever you may need it, a community that prides itself on inclusion and challenging the norm, and a culture that is rooted in moving forward. Visiting campus and staying overnight during the busy academic year is a great way to see all of this first hand!
What do you like about living in the Northwest?
Nothing is too far away to get to! I can drive a couple hours or less in any direction and find a new adventure. Visiting the Pacific Ocean, going camping near Mt. Rainier, spending the day in the city of Seattle or at a nearby park on the beach, hiking through countless trails, going shopping at the mall, or finding fun new places to eat; everything is accessible. Through all of these activities, you can experience the rich culture the Northwest has to offer.
- I live for sports and it is not very often that I’m not wearing something to support my favorite teams or checking to see how they are doing during the season. I played sports all the way through college, so I don’t just love watching – I love playing too! Any time I get the chance to get active I’m more than likely going to take that opportunity and enjoy it very much. On days where I need to relax and unwind, I have no problem sitting back and listening to music, watching Netflix, or going on a drive in the surrounding area.
