PLU Office of Graduate Admission and Alumni & Student Connections are pleased to present Graduate Education Week for 2019 to explore the value of graduate education for developing successful careers. Career panels will be held at 6 p.m. and lunch workshops from 12 to 1 p.m. on April 2, 3 and 4, Tuesday to Thursday. Come join us to explore your goals and consider your next steps. Lunch and evening refreshments will be provided.

The event is open to all PLU students, staff, alumni, and the public.  Admission Free. Continue below for details on the sessions being offered this year.

Career Panels - What to Study?

Explore career pathways in business, education, and health services, learn how a graduate degree will enhance career prospects and optimize opportunities. Hear inspiring stories from PLU alumni panelists. Network with these professionals and others to learn about their career experiences.  All panels are held in the Scandinavian Cultural Center, AUC. Practical Workshops - How to Start?

Learn about tools and strategies for applying to graduate school and how to improve your resume, personal statements, and recommendations. Speakers include members from PLU’s Alumni & Student Connections. All workshops are held in AUC Room 201. Lunch provided. Due to limited space, registration is required.

Learn about the art of resume writing! You’ll learn how to build a resume, tailor it to the specific program, and highlight your education and experience.

In this session we will work to identify 3 references who could provide strong letters of recommendation for your application. You’ll learn what information to provide to your reference and what to do after the letter of recommendation has been submitted.
