She also oversees the Lutes of Color, Natural Sciences, Economics, and Kinship Mentoring programs, as well as the Job Shadow Program.

Karmen comes with several years of experience working in Career Services. When she was a sophomore at Ithaca College in upstate New York, she was a Peer Career Advisor for the career services office. She then transferred to Seattle Pacific University, where she continued working in career services and helped start a Peer Career Advisor program there. She returned to that same office after acquiring her Masters degree to work as a Career Counselor.

She grew up in Seattle and has lived there most of her adult life. Outside of work, she enjoys playing basketball, biking, road trips, spending time with family and friends, walking her dog, and reading a good book.
