TO ATTEND A BENEFIT CONCERT PERFORMED BY PLU ALUMNA AND OPERA SENSATION ANGELA MEADE '01 IN MEMORY OF HER MOTHER. PROCEEDS FROM THE CONCERT WILL HELP TO FUND THE ANGELA MEADE VOCAL PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIP AT PACIFIC LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY.

Angela Meade ’01 joined an elite group of history's singers when she made her professional operatic debut on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera as Verdi's Elvira in Ernani, substituting for an ill colleague in March 2008, and she hasn't looked back. In addition to many other accolades, Soprano Angela Meade is the recipient of the 2011 Richard Tucker Award, the 2012 Beverly Sills Artist Award from the Metropolitan Opera and on May 13, 2013, Ms. Meade was named Artist of the Year by the Washington National Opera.
