The Department of Art & Design offers Artistic Achievement Awards for incoming PLU students. The Department teaches classes in printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, letterpress, photography and graphic design. Students use methods ranging from a ten thousand-year-old technique to make pots to cutting-edge and industry standard technology to generate high-tech computer images. Art history and theory courses engage students in critical analysis of major artistic movements from the prehistoric to contemporary world.
Please note: Artistic Achievement Awards are offered in renewable amounts ranging up to $7,500 per year and are in addition to academic merit awards.
To be considered for an Artistic Achievement Award for the 2022-23 academic year, please complete both an admission application to PLU as well as a scholarship award form. Scholarship applications will open October 1, 2021.
