The Department of Art & Design offers Artistic Achievement Awards for incoming PLU students. The Department teaches classes in printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, letterpress, photography and graphic design. Students use methods ranging from a ten thousand-year-old technique to make pots to cutting-edge and industry standard technology to generate high-tech computer images. Art history and theory courses engage students in critical analysis of major artistic movements from the prehistoric to contemporary world.
Artistic Achievement Awards are offered in renewable amounts ranging up to $7,500 per year and are in addition to academic merit awards.
To be considered for an Artistic Achievement Award for the 2022-23 academic year, please complete both an admission application to PLU as well as a scholarship award form. Scholarship applications are open now.
