The Department of Art & Design offers Artistic Achievement Awards for incoming PLU students. The Department teaches classes in printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, letterpress, photography and graphic design. Students use methods ranging from a ten thousand-year-old technique to make pots to cutting-edge and industry standard technology to generate high-tech computer images. Art history and theory courses engage students in critical analysis of major artistic movements from the prehistoric to contemporary world.
Please note: Artistic Achievement Awards and limited endowed scholarships are offered in renewable amounts ranging up to $7,500 per year and are in addition to academic merit awards.
For incoming students to be considered for the Artistic Achievement Award for the 2020-21 academic year, please complete both an admission application to PLU as well as a scholarship form. You DO NOT have to be admitted to PLU to apply for an award.
Applications for the 2020-21 academic year are closed; applications were due February 14, 2020. Students transferring from Concordia University have their deadline waived. Applications received after the deadline will be considered second round applications. Awards in second round consideration may or may not be available.
