Student Policy

Appointment No-Show Policy

Thank you for scheduling an appointment with Alumni & Student Connections. We are excited to meet with you, but first we want to make sure you are aware of our No-Show Policy. Please take a minute to review the below guidelines.

If you fail to notify the Alumni & Student Connections office that you are unable to make an appointment, you will be considered a “no-show” for that meeting. Following your missed appointment, you will receive an initial email reminding you of the policy. If you “no-show” for a second appointment, you will receive an email notifying you that you have lost the privilege of scheduling an individual career appointment through the Opportunities Board. In order to regain access to this service, you will have to reply to the email to arrange a brief meeting with a career advisor to discuss the policy and next steps.

In the event you are running late, please try to contact our office letting us know so we can be prepared. However, being late will result in a shorter appointment based on how tardy you are (ex: if you are 10 minutes late, your appointment will be 10 minutes shorter) in order to reduce the impact on following appointments. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will be considered a “no-show” and will need to reschedule.

Event No-Show Policy

Mandatory RSVP events include:

  • Career Treks
  • Professional/Alumni Mock Interviews
  • On Campus Interviews
  • Networking Meals

The student no-show policy applies to “mandatory RSVP events”, which include, but are not limited to, career treks, alumni mock interviews, on campus interviews, and networking meals. In the event a student is no longer able to attend an event, Alumni & Student Connections (ASC) must be notified in writing no less than 48 hours prior to the event. Notifying Alumni & Student Connections less than 48 hours in advance will be considered a no-show*.

These events are in high demand, so notifying ASC of your cancellation allows a waitlisted student the opportunity to participate. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.

As a no-show, registration privileges will be suspended for all following “mandatory RSVP events”. Students may regain registration privileges by making an in-person appointment with an ASC career advisor.

*Alumni & Student Connections staff understands that emergencies happen. If an emergency occurs, please notify our office as soon as possible so special accommodations can be made.
