My name is Tammara Bode, a third year student in the Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) program at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. My anticipated graduation date is May of 2022. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Psychology from Washington State University and a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology from John F. Kennedy University.
My theoretical orientation is integrative, which includes techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivation Therapy (MI). In order to strengthen my clinical skills and provide quality treatment, I actively participate in individual supervision, peer consultation, and didactic training. I am continually learning new information and broadening my scope of practice to better serve my clients.
As a mental skills consultant it is my great passion to help guide individuals and teams to enhanced performance while finding a healthy perception of themselves both in sport and in life. My approach regards each person’s unique characteristics, personality, goals and cultural identity as valuable. I actively aim to understand interaction of physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional aspects of a person’s life in the context of their environment and social support system. I believe that all of us struggle and hurt and can benefit from the power of the therapy relationship to promote healing, wisdom, and emotional strength.
