Artistic Achievement Awards
The School of Arts and Communication offers several Artistic Achievement Awards to talented, incoming students (new and transferring). Artistic Achievement Awards and limited endowed scholarships are offered in renewable amounts ranging up to $7,500 per year and are in addition to academic merit awards. Awards are renewable for up to three additional years, and are available to students in Art & Design, Dance, Forensics (Speech & Debate), Music and Theatre.
Students are eligible to apply for awards in multiple areas. To be considered for an Artistic Achievement Award for the 2020-21 academic year, please complete both an admission application to PLU, as well as a scholarship contact form. You DO NOT have to be admitted to PLU to apply for an award.
Applications for 2020-21 are closed; applications were due February 14, 2020. Transferring Concordia University students’ application deadline is waived. Interviews for Forensics Artistic Achievement Awards will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020.
Forensics (Speech and Debate)
Our Forensic team has a long history of intercollegiate forensics competition. Regionally, nationally and internationally active, our students participate in British Parliamentary debate. On average, the program attends 10 tournaments per year and hosts three events on PLU’s campus, including one of the largest high school tournaments in the Northwest, in addition to numerous community engagements.
