The need for high performance computing (HPC) is emerging in many fields of science and technology like fluid dynamics, astronomy, biomedical, biochemical and genetic engineering. The enormous amount of data generated in those fields needs to be processed, modeled and simulated. Recently, researchers have begun to explore the field of integrated circuits based on reconfigurable field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The opportunities and challenges of high performance computing on FPGA platform will be discussed.

Presented by Dr. Radha Guha, Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science & Computer Engineering

Refreshments will be provided.
