Professor Nathalie op de Beeck
Nathalie op de Beeck is Associate Professor of English at PLU. Her new edited collection, Literary Cultures and Twenty-First Century Childhoods is published by Palgrave MacMillan. She is also author of Suspended Animation: Children’s Picture Books and the Fairy Tale of Modernity, which was named the 2010 Book of the Year by the Children’s Literature Association, and editor of a Critical Facsimile Edition Mary Liddell’s 1926 book Little Machinery.



Professor Rick Barot
Rick Barot is Professor of English at PLU and Director of the Rainier Writing Workshop MFA program. The Galleons, his fourth collection of poems, was included on the long-list of nominees for this year’s National Book Award in Poetry. His poems and essays have appeared in numerous publications, including The New Yorker, Poetry, The Paris Review, and The New Republic.
