“Inspired by the coursework I did at PLU, I have focused my graduate studies on the interplay between literature and religious ideas, and on how theologies respond to social injustices.
“I’ve also had the opportunity to work with non-profit organizations and Princeton Seminary to try and integrate learning about justice with the practice of doing it.
“After graduate school, I plan to get a Masters in Teaching and long-term hope to work with policy makers to address some of our national education issues.
“At PLU I was taught to think critically, engage actively, and write well. These were skills that prepared me better than most for both academic studies and ‘real-world’ jobs. PLU’s focus on justice-oriented critical thinking continues to shape my vocational identity as I look forward to work in teaching and ministry. I wouldn’t trade my PLU education for any Ivy League experience!”
