Production Spaces

The Instructional Technology production spaces offer access to powerful computers, knowledgeable staff, and an array of design software. During staffed hours, iTech and Help Desk workers will be available to assist you on your creative projects using supported software. To schedule a one-on-one consultation, contact itech@plu.edu with information about your project or troubleshooting issue.

The Library Studio

The Library Studio is available for use! Located in the basement of Mortvedt Library, the Studio is the perfect spot for all your media production needs. The Studio features lighting kits, clean photography backdrops, easy-to-use high-quality recording equipment, and more. Production is currently happening on a lightboard, which will be available for anyone to use. This space is available for students, faculty, and staff, and is available any time the Mortvedt Library is open.

Studio Access & Reservations

Prior to using the Studio, users must fill out the Studio Policy Agreement Form. You must be logged into your PLU gmail account to access Studio forms.

To request a reservation, fill out the Studio Reservation Request Form. Be aware that filling out this form doesn’t guarantee the desired time slot, and users must wait for an official confirmation from iTech staff.

Mortvedt Design Lab

The Design Lab is located in the northeast corner of the Mortvedt Library, behind the Help Desk. This lab features 13 iMacs, each featuring the full Adobe Creative Suite as well as a host of other software. Many of the computers include disc drives as well.

Wiegand Design Lab

Wiegand Design Lab is located in Morken 115 and open during building hours. The lab hosts 6 Windows computers equipped with the Adobe Creative Suite.

Wiegand Sound Labs

sound-labThe Wiegand Design Lab also includes two sound labs designed for composing, recording, and mixing music. Each room is set up as a home recording studio including a Mac computer with Pro Tools 10, audio interface, keyboard, and microphone. Patrons interested in gaining access to the labs may email Instructional Technologies to set up a training session. Once you are certified, the labs are accessible via swipe card.

Equipment Checkout
Need a camera, tripod, or audio recording device to produce your project. Instructional Technologies has the technology you need to capture the materials for accomplishing your assignment.
