Leadership for PLU’s Administrative Information Environment

Rationale
To increase the understanding of PLU executive leadership regarding operations related to PLU’s administrative information environment (AIE); to facilitate the alignment of Information Systems operations and resources with university priorities; and to increase communication among executive leaders, and between executive leadership and I&TS leaders, in these areas.

- Systems and Data Analyst/Institutional Research (McGoldrick)
- Meetings are monthly with standard date, time, location (e.g., 3rd Friday, 11am-12, LIB 126)
- Participation/communication: All are invited, but all also have competing interests, so agendas, meeting records, and other communications will routinely be circulated to all so even those who do not attend routinely will be informed.
Responsibilities
- Set project priorities for Information System’s
- Periodically review a rolling, three-year strategic plan for PLU’s Administrative Computing that includes six-month, one-year, three-year and five-year measurable outcomes
- Set one-year, three-year, and five-year project goals for Administrative computing
- Develop and maintain guiding principles for the work of the Advancement, Finance, Student, and Financial Aid project teams
- Coordinate with related planning efforts, e.g., Technology Initiative Fund, the Web development team, and a forthcoming general IT rolling three-year plan
- Envision desired future administrative information environments for students, staff, and faculty (initially, working with a consultant)
Goals/Outcomes
- Improved accountability and status reports from Information Systems arising from a more rigorous project-based work environment
- An efficient and effective process for vetting enhancements to Banner, purchase & deployment of other software systems that require Banner development, and priorities among them
- Increased communication among executive and I&TS leadership around the AIE and other IT arenas
- A widely-shared vision for the future of the AIE, especially the Banner system
