Linking to Articles & Resources

To provide students with permanent links to articles in library databases that will work from both on and off campus, you need to create a special link using the converter below.

Use the converter for links found in EBSCO, JSTOR, ScienceDirect, ACM Digital Library, ACS Journals, AnthroSource, and OVID Journals. See examples below for where to locate links in each database.

Creating Links

  1. Find and copy the link for the article.
  2. Paste link below and click Convert Link

Locating Database Links to Use in the Converter


Ebsco:

Copy and convert the Permalink.

1) click on the Permalink icon/link and a new box will pop up on the top of the screen

2) when the new box appears, swipe over the link text beginning with "http://" and copy the link, , then paste it into the converter

ProQuest:

Copy the Document URL, no need to convert the link.

1) click on the Citation/Abstract icon/link and you will be taken to a new page

2) on the new page, swipe over the link text beginning with "https://" and copy the link -- there is no need to convert this link

JSTOR:

Copy and convert the Stable URL.

swipe over the Stable URL link text beginning with "http://" and copy the link, , then paste it into the converter

ScienceDirect:

Copy and convert the doi.

right click on the highlighted doi link and copy the link, then paste it into the converter

ACM Digital Library:

Copy and convert the doi link.

right click on the underlined "doi" link and copy the link, then paste it into the converter

ACS Journals:

Copy and convert the PDF or HTML link.

right click on the "PDF, "PDF w/Links," or "Full Text HTML" link and copy the link, then paste it into the converter

AnthroSource:

Copy and convert the PDF link.

1) click on the link "HTML Version and More Information," you'll be taken to a new page

2) on the new page, right click on the "Get PDF" link and copy the link, then paste it into the converter
