The 12-month MAE program has the following two tracks:
1. MAE with Elementary Certification requires 38 semester credits for completion.
Total tuition: $35,340 ($930 per credit)

Tuition is based on a cohort model. The tuition covers the costs of this program only. Costs and courses for endorsement are not included in the cohort price. Students must complete the program with their cohort to remain eligible for cohort pricing.
Additional fees: Technology fee ($260/year), wellness fee ($110/year), a one-time matriculation fee ($205), books and materials for coursework, certification, fingerprinting, etc.
The MAE Alternative Route to Certification (MAE-ARC) has two options. Students can choose to complete both the certification and the degree requirements, or complete the certification portion only.
English Language Learners and Special Education endorsement options represent an additional tuition cost. Students will complete the Summer Endorsements @ PLU Continuing Education sequence in the summer as directed by the Academic Advisor.
The MAE-ARC program has four tracks:
1. MAE-ARC with Elementary Certification. This track requires 36 semester credits for completion. The certification portion is 25 semester credits from summer 2023 to spring 2024. The remaining 9 credits for the MAE degree can be completed within 3 years (by spring 2026).
Total tuition for elementary certification (25 credits): $23,250 ($930 per credit)
Total tuition with MAE degree (36 credits): $33,480 ($930 per credit)
2023 MAE Alternative Route Elementary Track Cost Sheet in PDF Format
2. MAE-ARC with Secondary Certification. This track requires 34 semester credits for completion. The certification portion is 23 semester credits from summer 2023 to spring 2024. The remaining 11 credits for the MAE degree can be completed within 3 years (by spring 2026).
Total tuition for secondary certification (23 credits): $21,390 ($930 per credit)
Total tuition for certification with MAE degree (34 credits): $31,620 ($930 per credit)
