  • BA, Mathematics, University of Montana, 2009

Born and raised in Puyallup. I graduated from ERHS in 2005. I received my BA in mathematics from Montana in 2009 and my MS in mathematics from Portland State in 2011. I have been an adjunct professor at Pierce for six years now; this quarter is the start of my seventh year. For the first three years of my teaching career, I was also on the staff (and was manager for some time) at Fleet Feet Sports in Bonney Lake.

I spend my time outside of school with my amazing wife, running and coaching. My wife and I have been married for six years and have been together for over fourteen years. Yep, we’re that couple from high school everyone knew would stay together. We are expecting our first child in June.

I have been a competitive runner since high school. I have won 5k, 10k and marathon races (still haven’t gotten that half marathon win). Among my 30+ marathon or longer races, I have finished the Boston Marathon as well as a 100 Mile Ultra Marathon. I coach high school cross country at Kent-Meridian and I am a private coach with Perkins Coaching.
