Financial Aid & Scholarships

The PLU School of Business has many scholarship and financial aid awards available. Please select from which type you’d like to view. You may also look into federal, military aid, or external scholarships to support your graduate studies.

The Build Your Career Scholarship promotes access to graduate education as a key step toward helping students achieve their personal and professional goals.

Amount: $9,000

Eligibility: Any applicants who apply for admission to Master of Science in Marketing Analytics by March 31, 2024, to start the program in Fall 2024.

Terms of the Award: The award will be distributed over the course of the degree program, based on the number of credits registered for each term.

Application deadline: Priority deadline is June 1, 2023.

Students who qualify for the “Build Your Career” scholarship are not eligible to apply for this award.

Criteria: Applicants to a PLU School of Business graduate program with high academic standards, and who have demonstrated a purposeful life of achievement, inquiry, integrity, leadership, and service may apply for this scholarship. Specifically, the applicant must:

  • Have submitted a complete application for admission to the PLU MSMA program
  • Have a minimum average GPA in all previous college or university coursework
  • Demonstrate evidence of living a purposeful life of achievement, inquiry, integrity, leadership and service to the community

Terms of the award: Students whose tuition is paid for by an outside organization (GI Bill, employer tuition benefits) are not eligible for this award.  The Dean’s Excellence Graduate Scholarship is divided into two equal allocations for the fall and spring semesters. The fall portion is dispersed automatically. In order to receive the spring portion the student must:

  • Enroll full-time
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

The Murray-Danielson Management Award Scholarship was established and funded by Kenneth P. Murray, who received a BA and MBA from Pacific Lutheran University, and Sherman Danielson who graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a BA.

Award amount: $3,276

Application deadline: Scholarship has been awarded for the ’23-’24 school year.

Criteria:

  • United States citizen
  • Full-time (12+ credits per semester) Undergraduate  (8 credits per semester) Graduate student
  • 3.00 minimum GPA (Junior/Senior) or 3.33 minimum GPA (Graduate)
  • Leadership skills

(Scholarship will be awarded again in May 2024.)

This highly competitive scholarship, sponsored by the PLU Business Network, is open to graduate business students who display high academic standards and leadership within the School of Business. Selected candidates will be interviewed by the PLU Business Network Board of Directors.

Award Amount: $1,773

Application Deadline: Scholarship has been awarded for the ’23-’24 school year.

Criteria:

  • Full-time- 8 credits per semester in the MBA or MSMA/12 credits per semester in the BBA
  • 3.00 minimum GPA
  • Leadership, Communication and Time Management Skills

(Scholarship will be awarded again in May 2024)

Dr. Smith was a management professor at MIT, Dartmouth and U. Michigan flint.  He received his BSME and MSME degrees from U. of Minnesota and his PhD in Management from Stanford.

Award Amount: $1,250

Number of Awards: One

Criteria:  A successful candidate for this award will be a current MSMA student as of Fall 2023 and have a 3.0 undergraduate or MSMA GPA.  A competitive candidate should have a high scholastic achievement.

Application Deadline: Tuesday, October 17, 2023 by 5pm.

The PLU Grant provides a 10 percent discount on tuition for graduate applicants who graduated from PLU with a bachelor’s degree or higher and enroll in a PLU graduate-level degree or approved master’s level certificate program. Restrictions apply to those students who are also PLU employees. The discount begins immediately upon admission.
