Biography

Tracy D. Holt, DNP, MSN, RN-BC, CHSE, CNE, is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and the Assistant Dean of Prelicensure Programs at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington.  She has been a registered nurse since 1990 when she completed her associate degree at Louisiana State University in Alexandria. In 2004 she completed the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Northwestern State University in Alexandria. She worked in the acute care clinical setting from 1990 until 2009, when she completed a Master’s in Nursing Education and began teaching in undergraduate RN programs. In 2020 she completed the DNP Nursing Educational Leadership program at American Sentinel University. The focus of her DNP Capstone Project was how nurse educators could use the NCSBN Nursing Clinical Judgment Measurement Model as a framework to develop multiple-choice test items that accurately measure clinical judgment as defined by the NCSBN. Dr. Holt is very passionate about safe patient care.  Her overall goal as a nurse educator is to assist nursing students in developing the clinical judgment abilities necessary to provide safe, competent patient care.
