Why do you serve on the Peace Scholars Committee?
I believe we all have a social responsibility as global citizens to understand and practice peace in our family, community, and world around us. The study and practice of peace is integral to all disciplines. You can be a major in science, music, religion, or hold no major, and still be an advocate for peace by speaking out against violent conflicts and unjust practices, or by knowing how your skills may benefit a society and not bring harm to others. I’m proud to be a member of the PLU Peace Scholar Program, a program which offers fantastic opportunities for students to participate in rich conversations and discussions regarding peace from diverse perspectives.
