Jessica Spring is a Resident Artist in Art and Design, as well as the Elliott Press Manager. She teaches the Art of the Book classes, plus classes in typography and graphic design.
Jessica designs, prints, and binds artists’ books featuring handmade paper and letterpress printing. Her small finely crafted editions, produced at Springtide Press, consider historical topics and popular culture from a unique perspective.
Jessica earned her MFA from Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper, and her work is featured in the collections of the University of Washington, the Newberry Library, Northwestern University, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Yale University. She is a recipient of the 2005 Tacoma Artists Initiative Program through the Tacoma Arts Commission and a winner of the 2014 Amocat Arts Award for Community Outreach by an Individual.
