Biography

Chris Rice joined the Pacific Lutheran athletics staff prior to the 2011-2012 academic year as the strength and conditioning coach and Names Fitness Center Director.

Rice earned an undergraduate degree in health promotion and wellness from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and later received his master’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Prior to PLU, Rice was a fitness operations team leader at Adventure 212 Fitness in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. There, he supervised a 31-member part-time staff and coordinated all areas relating to adult fitness, personal training, and group fitness at the 40,000-square foot facility. Prior to that, for two years he was a fitness and recreation coordinator at UW-Stevens Point, supervising the daily operation of a 2,200-member fitness facility.

While earning his master’s degree at Texas-El Paso, Rice was a kinesiology instructor, teaching assistant, and a graduate assistant strength coach.
