J-Term and Spring Housing Options

We encourage students to explore on-campus options because of the unique benefits our communities provide.  Our residence halls are within 5 minutes of your classrooms, the library, study groups, etc. and are designed and staffed to encourage connections and a sense of belonging.  For a complete list of on-campus advantages go to: On-Campus vs. Off-Campus.  When applying for housing, we encourage you to review the following:

Application Deadline: Applications are due by 8:00am Monday, November 25th.  Late applications will not receive priority points, and assignments will be made in the order applications were received.

Occupancy Dates:  The residence halls will open for J-term residents at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 1st, 2014.  The halls will re-open for Spring residents at 1:00pm on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014.

Living Learning Communities:  There are three living learning communities: Hinderlie Community for Creative Expression, Hong International Hall, and the Social Action and Leadership floors in Ordal Hall.  The residents in these halls have a typical on campus experience with the added value of developing relationships with faculty and sharing a similar community focus.  Additional information is available on our website: Living Learning Communities.

South Hall:  Is reserved for students at least 20 years of age or with 60 or more credits.  It is an apartment style hall with 1, 2, and 4 bedroom apartments.  Student who are interested and qualify should apply online using the South Hall Application and to utilize the South Hall Availability List.

Single Room Options:  A limited number of single room requests will be assigned for J-term and Spring semesters.

  • Kreidler Hall:  Is also reserved for students at least 20 years of age or with 60 or more credits.  It is similar to the Traditional residence halls, but only offers single room housing options.
  • Single-Doubles:  The number of single-double rooms offered will vary by hall.  Assignments will be made in priority point order (for on time applications only).  Click here for more information on priority points.

Housing Rates:  The Spring housing rates are available on our Rates & Dates page.  If you have questions regarding your financial aid or payment plan options please contact Student Services at (253)535-7161 or ssvc@plu.edu.
