Keeping space between yourself and others is one of the best tools we have to avoid being exposed to the COVID-19 virus and to slow its spread. Since people can spread the virus before they know they are sick (or spread it without ever feeling sick), it is important to stay away from others when possible, even if you are experiencing no symptoms. Physical distancing is important for everyone, especially to help protect people who are at higher risk of getting very sick. Students should follow these physical-distancing practices:
- Stay at least six feet (about two arm lengths) away from other people at all times.
- Do not gather in groups.
- Stay out of crowded places and avoid mass gatherings.
- Follow physical-distancing directions provided by floor markers, directional signage, and other signs in buildings and outdoor spaces.
- Meet outdoors when possible.
