The Community English Language Learners (C.E.L.L) Program at Pacific Lutheran University is a unique example of campus-community collaboration. PLU students have the opportunity to work with spanish-speaking adult community members to help them learn English as a Second Language. We offer classes for adults of all levels and focus on lessons about sentence structure, grammar rules and conversational English. Our classes are designed to specifically meet the needs of the community members and we build our curriculum based on what students want to learn. We hope to have the program back for the 2019/2020 school year at PLU’s new Parkland Literacy Center.
