Adam Morrell - Stadium High School Jazz Band Director
Adam Morrell joined the Tacoma Public Schools in 2007 at Stewart Middle School where he taught band, choir and started percussion and orchestra classes. Before coming to Tacoma, he graduated from Central Washington University with a BA in Music Education. During his time in college, he worked as a drum major for the University Marching Band, worked as a brass instructor and beginning band instructor for local schools. Mr. Morrell joined the Stadium High School staff in 2012. Mr. Morrell received a Masters in Music from Central Washington University in September of 2015.
During his time at Stadium High School, the bands have received superior ratings at band contests and continually strives for musical excellence each year. Mr. Morrell’s goal for the students is to become life long music lovers and supporters, as they continue in the tradition of musical excellence that has been Stadium High School for 100 years.
Mr. Morrell has traveled with students across Europe: England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain and Austria, to Canada and to various locations within the United States. Mr. Morrell believes it is vital to continue his knowledge by exposing his students to college and university band directors.
