Student Advisory Board

The Pacific Lutheran University SOAC Student Advisory Board serves as the primary source of student advice to the Dean of the School and as student ambassadors for prospective SOAC students. The board consists of representation from across the SOAC disciplines as selected by the respective chair of the department or director of the program.  Representatives hold their positions for one academic year and meet on a monthly basis with the Dean of the School.

Current and prospective students should feel free to contact any of these board members directly. The SOAC Student Advisory Board members offer their own unique view of the SOAC experience.

Kelsey Barnes '16

Kelsey Barnes is a junior from Edmonds, WA, pursuing a double major in Art History and Anthropology. Additionally, she is beginning her third year in the International Honors Program. After graduation, she plans on attending graduate school for Museum Studies, and later pursuing a career as a museum curator. During her spring semester of 2014, Kelsey was chosen to be a part of the inaugural group to  study abroad with the IHON Oxford Program. Although the main focus of this program were the IHON courses about the foundations, principles, and practice of human rights, Kelsey’s favorite part of this experience was the one-on-one Art history course she took with an Oxford Professor. The opportunity to see the pieces she was studying in person was priceless! Please contact Kelsey at barneskl@plu.edu.
