Biography
Dr. Jan Lewis came to PLU in 1989. Her areas of interest include best practices in reading and writing instruction, children’s and adolescent literature, and the anthropological considerations of the roles and applications of language and literacy. She has taught a wide range of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is the co-author, with Dr. Jane Braunger, of Building a Knowledge Base in Reading (1997, 2005). In 2008, Dr. Lewis was appointed to the position of Associate Provost for Curriculum.
