Rita Lee Swanson

Rita Lee Swanson passed away in Bellingham, Washington, on Jan. 25, 2023. She was a registered nurse who received her bachelor of science and master of science in nursing from PLU. With her master’s, she was able to teach in the English-language nursing program at Mikkeli Polytechnical College in Mikkeli, Finland, when she lived there with her husband, Dr. David A. Swanson, a former PLU faculty member, who served as Dean of the Mikkeli Campus of the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration (now part of Aalto University).
