Bill Scharnweber

Bill Scharnweber passed away at age 77 on Feb.7, 2021, weeks after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. He received a bachelor of arts degree in history in 1965 and went on to earn a master’s degree in European history from WSU. After pursuing a Ph.D. in medieval and renaissance history at the University of Michigan, he spent the next 30 years working for Follett College Stores and ended his career in Chicago as director of intellectual properties and sales. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Marcia (Larsen) ’67, his sons Kurt, Rudi and Karl (Amber), and daughter Greta Arang.
