Christian is a senior this year at PLU, majoring in History with a minor in Norwegian language. He calls Saint Louis, Missouri home, although he was born and raised in Southern California and has also lived in Arizona. He was drawn to PLU partly because of its emphasis on international awareness and he was able to study away in Norway in the fall of 2012, which was truly a rewarding experience! He greatly looks forward to being more involved in Campus Ministry and UCong as well as being more connected to the international community on campus through his position at International Student Services. Christian's current dream destination (besides everywhere in the world of course) is Israel/Palestine, both because of the region's spiritual and historical standing and because of its intense diversity of cultures, religions, cuisines, languages, and perspectives. Christian has been privileged to travel a great deal so far in his life and his most memorable journey was with his father to Peru. Hiking the 4-day long Inca Trail up to Machu Picchu was an extraordinary experience and broke him out of his comfort zone like any great trip should. The cultural experiences and incredible scenery gave him perspective on his place in the world and cemented his interest in the importance of inter-cultural dialogue and human relationships, which continue to enthuse him today in his studies and in everyday life.
