Brian C. Olson Student Leadership Award

Curtis is a Communication major and Theatre minor from Puyallup, Wash. PLU runs in Curtis’ family; she is not only a legacy student, but also the daughter of a dedicated staff member and alumna, Ardys (Burt ’86); alumnus, Brian Curtis ’85; and sister of alumna, Sarah Curtis-Tilton ’10. Curtis was employed in the Office of Advancement for nearly four years.

As Advancement Student Intern, Curtis has helped provide excellent customer service and support to her colleagues and PLU constituents. She looks for opportunities to get to know alumni, parents and friends of PLU and acts as a terrific representative of the university. Curtis was promoted to Administrative Student Lead in 2012 and has served as a mentor to her fellow student employees. She helps to train, coach and guide her team so it can be successful.

Additionally, Curtis volunteered with the Student Philanthropy Committee and Graduation Gift Committee during her senior year. She leads the charge by example, having given her first gift last year as a junior and contributed again when this year’s Grad Gift campaign launched.
