Information for Parents

At PLU, we realize most students don’t attend college alone. They are supported by their parents, relatives, friends and supporters. In many cases, parents and family members have different questions than students do. Many parents want to know how a university will help their son or daughter grow academically, personally and professionally. PLU is a place that strives to challenge and support students to grow in multiple areas of life. Academic life at PLU is rigorous. Student life is active and diverse. The pursuit of a meaningful profession and career is taken seriously. It is all that, and more. PLU faculty and staff encourage students to find their passion in life, and they help students put that passion to good use – for themselves, their communities, and the world. We call this process the pursuit of one’s vocation. It’s very much connected to PLU’s Lutheran heritage and broad educational philosophy.
