Her current research interests are in the area of public housing and immigrant communities as well as program evaluation. Most recent publications focus on challenges and strengths of public housing residents, development of community in public and mixed housing developments, student learning and growth in study away experiences, and teaching strategies for social work.

In 2003 I began my graduate study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Masters of Arts in Physics in 2005 and a Ph.D. in 2008 as a student of Gary Shiu. My Ph.D. thesis, entitled “Warped String Phenomenology: Topics in Cosmology and Particle Physics”, focused on the interesting phenomenological and cosmological implications of warped extra dimensions, which commonly appear in string theory models.     Raymond W. Brock Memorial Composition Commission - American Choral Directors Association Biography After a successful 30 year tenure at PLU, Richard Nance retired in May 2022. He served as the sixth conductor of the Choir of the West, and also conducted University Singers and Choral Union. He taught the choral conducting sequence and supervised student teachers.
