Mickie has most recently been a Community Director for the Women’s Empowerment & Gender Equity Learning Community when it used to live in Harstad Hall (let’s go Harstad!) Before that, Mickie worked at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA where they served as a Resident Director and CARE Team Non-Clinical Case Manager for a year. Mickie has lived all over, including: VA, OH, CO, OR, and WA and feels most at home in the PNW! Mickie likes working at PLU because they get to be in conversations and implement strategies that focus around intentional community, mutual learning and accountability, curiosity, disrupting and dismantling white supremacy, white ethnocentricity, heteronormative cultural norms, patriarchy, capitalism, and colonization. Mickie is always down to hike, learn, sip coffee/tea, read poetry, exchange stories, and eat ice cream. .
