Urgent Medical Support

• Call the MultiCare Consulting Nurse Line at 253-693-7714 or proceed to the nearest emergency department or urgent care center (see list below).

Crisis Support Options

• Call 911 immediately if you are facing a life-threatening emergency.
• Call 988 if you are experiencing suicidal thoughts or having an emotional crisis.  Faculty and staff can call to support a student in crisis, as well.
  • Option 1 – Veterans/Military
  • Option 2 – Spanish Language
  • Option 3 – LGBTQIA2s+  Youth (between 13-24)
  • Option 4 – American Indian and Alaska Native
  • Stay on line for all others, including other language options
  • NOTE:  988’s phone system will route your call to the closest crisis center based on area code, therefore they may route you to an out-of-state center if you are using a non-Washington phone number when making a call.

Emergency Department

Students experiencing an acute crisis that warrants immediate medical or mental health attention should proceed to the nearest emergency department or urgent care center (see list below).  The MultiCare Good Samaritan Parkland Emergency Department is located nearest to PLU.

TimelyCare Virtual Services

TimelyCare (formerly Lute Telehealth) provides free medical and mental health care for currently enrolled PLU students, using HIPAA compliant, on-demand virtual and phone-based services.  Licensed counselors and physicians are available 24/7/365 for students wanting and/or needing immediate contact with a clinician.

• Download the app for quickest contact, or log in online with your PLU credentials, then select “Talk Now” or “Medical Now” to contact a clinician withing moments.
• There is no limit to using this service.
• Campus-based services refer students to TimelyCare regularly, and collaborate with TimelyCare clinicians to support student health and mental health.
