Monolingualism Can Be Cured!

Break free of monolingualism!  Join the growing conspiracy at PLU to be multilingual!

Explore the mysteries of language and enter an unfiltered conversation with the world through literature, film, and everyday speech. “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head.  If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.” —Nelson Mandela An understanding in world cultures and an ability to speak languages other than one’s own are hallmarks of today’s college graduate and a successful career person.

PLU offers majors and minors in Chinese, Classics (Greek and Latin), French, German, Norwegian, and Spanish. Students can develop language and cultural skills while traveling abroad or studying at universities overseas. And through the Wang Center for International Programs. All our programs provide study away opportunities in both J-term and semester-long formats.

The world is calling. Can you hear it? These German students did, as well as these Spanish students.
