Nurses in a variety of settings - acute, long term and home care are
confronted with wound care challenges on a daily basis. This offering
will include basic assessment and management for the most frequently
occurring wound skin challenges. This workshop will focus on the
special needs of the elderly client.
Shirley B. Cameron, RN, MN, ARNP-C, is a Gerontological Nurse
Practitioner and the Senior Care Coordinator, VA Puget Sound Health
Care System, American Lake Division, Tacoma WA. At VAPSHCS her clinical
and administrative duties include Wound Care Consultant at American
Lake Division. She is a Clinical Provider for the Medical Symptom
Reduction Clinic, Mind/Body Institute, Harvard University Affiliate at
Multicare Medical Center in Tacoma. Ms. Cameron is a frequent presenter
on health care issues. She retired from a distinguished career in the
United States Air Force Reserve.
