• Sep 22, 2021 @ 7:15am - Additional Building Affected- Swimming Pool

  The power is also out in the Swimming Pool. Activities beginning at 8:00am in this space will cancelled. An update will be given for classes starting later.

• Sep 22, 2021 @ 8:30am - 9:30am Classes in Affected Buildings Cancelled

  Classes and activities in Olson, Rieke, Morken, MBR, Memorial Gym, Names Fitness Center, and the Swimming Pool starting at 9:30am will be cancelled. Classes and activities in unaffected buildings will continue as scheduled. An announcement regarding the status of the 11:00am classes and activities will be sent no later than 9:30am.

• Sep 22, 2021 @ 8:45am - Alternative Work Spaces

  The University Center and the Library have both power and wireless internet access. If you are on campus and looking for a place to work or study please consider these spaces.

• Sep 22, 2021 @ 9:30am - 11:00am Classes in Affected Buildings Cancelled

  11:00am classes and activities have been cancelled in Olson, Rieke, Morken, MBR, Memorial Gym, Names Fitness Center, and the Swimming Pool. Classes and activities in unaffected buildings will continue as scheduled. Parkland Light and Water technicians have identified the source of the problem and are working on the repair. An announcement regarding the status of the 12:30pm classes and activities will be sent no later than 11:00am.

• Sep 22, 2021 @ 10:26am - Partial Campus Power Outage — Update

  Parts of campus are experiencing a power outage this morning. Parkland Light & Water is currently investigating the outage, and their technicians have identified the source of the issue. The next update to the campus community will be at 11:00 a.m. via the PLU Alert text system.

  Copy Center
  Facilities Management Offices
  Mail Services
  Mary Baker Russell Music Center (MBR)
  Memorial Gymnasium
  Morken Center for Learning and Technology
  Names Fitness Center
  Olson Auditorium
  Rieke Science Center
  Swimming Pool
  
  For safety reasons, these buildings will be closed until power is restored. Students, faculty, and staff in the affected parts of the community are invited and encouraged to utilize the Anderson University Center or the Mortvedt Library. Faculty and staff may retrieve items from their offices if necessary. Please note: the majority of card readers in the above buildings are locked and cards will not grant access due to the outage.
  
  
  Impacted Services:
  
  The Mail Services staff is without power in their building, and they have switched to paper tracking for packages and mail. Campus mail delivery may be delayed.
  
  Facilities Management and Campus Safety are actively working on the response to the power outage. You may experience delays for non-emergency-related service requests. This includes requests for admission into buildings.

  12:30pm classes and activities have been cancelled in Olson, Rieke, Morken, MBR, Memorial Gym, Names Fitness Center, and the Swimming Pool. Classes and activities in unaffected buildings will continue as scheduled. Parkland Light and Water technicians have identified the source of the problem and are working on the repair. An announcement regarding the status of the 2:00pm classes and activities will be sent no later than 12:30pm.

• Sep 22, 2021 @ 12:30pm - Some Power Restored - 2:00pm Classes may continue

  Power has been restored at Memorial Gym, Names Fitness Center, and the Swimming Pool, 2:00pm classes and activities in those spaces will continue as scheduled. 2:00pm classes and activities in Olson, Rieke, Morken, and MBR will be reevaluated at 1:00pm, as buildings are slowly coming back online. Classes and activities in unaffected buildings will continue as scheduled.

• Sep 22, 2021 @ 1:00pm - 2:00pm Classes/Activities in Olson, Rieke, Morken, and MBR Cancelled

  2:00pm classes and activities in Olson, Rieke, Morken, and MBR will be cancelled. Buildings are slowly coming back online, an announcement regarding 3:30pm classes and activities happening in affected buildings will be made at approximately 2:00pm. Classes and activities in unaffected buildings will continue as scheduled.
  

• Sep 22, 2021 @ 2:00pm - All 3:30pm classes/Activities are Cleared to Resume

  Power has been restored in Rieke, MBR, Morken and Olson. 3:30pm classes and activities in those spaces will continue as scheduled. Re-entry to these spaces is permitted. Facilities is conducting checks of electrical and emergency systems. These checks are expected to be concluded by the 3:30pm start time.

  All of campus now has power restored. All activities can resume as scheduled.
