Providing care to all PLU students

Tuition Insurance

With the current high level of education costs, PLU recommends an elective tuition insurance plan.  This plan helps cover PLU costs if a student has to withdraw due to a serious illness or accident before the semester is completed. We encourage all students to protect their tuition dollars.  Students with pre-existing health concerns are strongly encouraged to consider purchasing a tuition insurance plan.  For cost information and application go to and then select Pacific Lutheran University.  Those who wish to participate online must submit the application and payment prior to the 10th day of fall classes on Sept. 19, 2014.  Dewar will not accept applications following that date.

The PLU Health Center is a crucial part of maintaining a healthy campus. The Health Center offers primary healthcare services to all PLU students. We provide high-quality, confidential medical care right here on campus. There is never a charge for an office visit for any reason, so there is no need to bring an insurance card or a copay.

Our wide range of services include management of acute illnesses and injuries like colds, sore throat, or muscle injuries. We also evaluate and manage chronic illnesses like asthma and high blood pressure. We also offer immunizations, specific men's and women's healthcare services, physical examinations, sexual health services, and care for emotional and mental health.

In an emergency, call 7911 from on campus or 911 from off campus. If the Health Center is closed and you require urgent medical advice, you may contact the MultiCare nurse consulting line by calling 253-792-6300.
