The 12-month MAE program has the following two tracks:

1. MAE with Elementary Certification requires 36 semester credits for completion.

Total tuition: $34,200 ($950 per credit)

Tuition is based on a cohort model. The tuition covers the costs of this program only. Costs and courses for endorsement are not included in the cohort price. Students must complete the program with their cohort to remain eligible for cohort pricing.

Additional fees: Technology fee ($270/year), wellness fee ($110/year), a one-time matriculation fee ($205), books and materials for coursework, certification, fingerprinting, etc.

The MAE Alternative Route to Certification (MAE-ARC) has two options. Students can choose to complete both the certification and the degree requirements, or complete the certification portion only.

English Language Learners and Special Education endorsement options represent an additional tuition cost. Students will complete the Summer Endorsements @ PLU Continuing Education sequence in the summer as directed by the Academic Advisor.

The MAE-ARC program has four tracks:

1. MAE-ARC with Elementary Certification. This track requires 34 semester credits for completion. The certification portion is 26 semester credits from summer 2024 to spring 2025. The remaining 8 credits for the MAE degree can be completed within 3 years (by spring 2027).

Total tuition for elementary certification (26 credits): $24,700 ($950 per credit)
Total tuition with MAE degree (34 credits): $32,300 ($950 per credit)

2024 MAE Alternative Route Elementary Track Cost Sheet in PDF Format

2. MAE-ARC with Elementary/SPED Certification. This track requires 52 semester credits for completion. The certification portion is 26 semester credits from summer 2024 to spring 2026, plus 18 credits of Continuing Education coursework for the special education endorsement. The remaining 8 credits for the MAE degree can be completed within 3 years (by spring 2027).

Total tuition for certification with MAE degree (52 credits): $36,800

2024 MAE Alternative Route Elementary/SPED Track Cost Sheet in PDF Format

3. MAE-ARC with Secondary Certification. This track requires 34 semester credits for completion. The certification portion is 24 semester credits from summer 2024 to spring 2026. The remaining 10 credits for the MAE degree can be completed within 3 years (by spring 2027).

Total tuition for secondary certification (24 credits): $22,800 ($950 per credit)
Total tuition for certification with MAE degree (34 credits): $32,300 ($950 per credit)

4. MAE-ARC with Secondary/SPED Certification. This track requires 52 semester credits for completion. The certification portion is 24 semester credits from summer 2024 to spring 2026, plus 18 credits of Continuing Education coursework for the special education endorsement.
