As we prepare for the opening of the 2021 school year, we are excited to celebrate — IN PERSON! — and show our appreciation for you, the faculty and staff who make PLU possible.

You’re invited to Black & Gold Day – Wednesday, Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Red Square.

  • Prizes will be given away throughout the event
  • Join the fun at any or all of the activities

Join colleagues from across campus in Red Square for a morning full of activities, including live entertainment, field games, and summertime treats.

Order your parking pass by August 9 and pick it up at our table!

Come and visit the Human Resources table to complete a September retirement form, get information about the remote work policy, ORCA benefit and the referral bonus. All HR questions are welcome!

Wellness and Community Opportunities

Led by members of President’s Council, meet by the clock tower at 9:30 a.m. Walks will be approximately an hour in length and may include trash pickup along the route.

Join The Diversity Center in the PLU Community Garden for a work party to assist with harvesting, weeding, and planting.  We encourage participants to bring a hat and water bottle and to wear closed toe shoes.  Meet by the steps in front of Xavier at 9:30 a.m. Stay for a long as you like, with the projects wrapping up about 11am.

Join President Belton and members of the grounds crew to spruce up pathways between upper and lower campus. Meet at 9:30 a.m. on the front steps of KHP. Please wear closed toed shoes and bring gloves and pruners if you have them, a limited supply will be provided. Participate as long as you like, the plan is to wrap up by 11 a.m. or when the project is complete.
