The Board of Regents consists of a maximum of 37 voting members:

  • The President of the university, ex-officio
  • Three Bishops of the synods of Region 1 of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
  • Eighteen from the membership of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (three are pastors)
  • Three Alumni
  • Twelve at-large regents
