Residential Life has many different opportunities for you to develop your leadership skills.  You can be a Resident Assistant, Community Assistant, or Resident Assistant with Additional Duties.  Check out the information on this page to get the details!

 

The Department of Residential Life will not be posting any RA openings for the remainder of the 2009-2010 academic year.

Student Leader Staff 2010-2011

New Applicant Process:

Applications will be available on February 9, 2010.

Fill out the application online through the Student Employment website (www.plu.edu/~stuemp).  The leadership position is listed under “Resident Assistant/Community Assistant (New Candidates Only).” Applications are due on February 23, 2010. 

Once you have filled out the application it will be reviewed by the Student Leader Selection team. 

Selection Time Line

 Feb 9:  Applications Available

Feb 23: Applications Due

March 3:  Notification/Interview Sign Up

March 12:  Interview Process

March 15 and 16:  New RA/CA Interview

March 22 and 23:  Returning RA Interviews/Presentations

March 30th:  Notification

April 13:  Accept/Decline of position due date

Returning Applicant Process:

Fill out the application online through the Student Employment website (www.plu.edu/~stuemp).  The leadership position is listed under “Resident Assistant/Community Assistant (Returning Candidates Only).”  Applications are due on February 23, 2010. 

Turn in a copy of your professional resume to the Residential Life Office by February 23rd. 

You will be contacted by the Student Leader Selection team confirming that we have received your application.  From there you will be asked to sign up for an interview time at the Residential Life Office (interview dates are March 22nd and 23rd).

For your interview, you will be asked to give a 10-15 minute presentation where you answer all of the questions listed here.  

A 10 minute question and answer portion will follow the presentation. 

After the interview portion is completed, you will be informed by March 30th, 2010, as to whether or not you are being offered a Residential Life Student Leader position. 

Position Descriptions

Minimum RA/CA Requirments

  • Reside on campus at PLU for at least one semester
  • PLU cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Full-time student
  • Be in good standing with the PLU Student Conduct System
