Thor Heyerdahl and PLU

Thor Heyerdahl was an Anthropologist and Explorer. He gained notoriety with his use of experimental Anthropology and his love of ocean travel. As the years passed, he also became well known for his environmental advocacy and promotion of a healthy global environment.

Pacific Lutheran University is proud to host an annual lecture in his name that discusses environmental issues and what can be done about them going forward. Look below at some of the previous lecture topics and see how PLU’s Scandinavian roots are helping support its global future.
