M - Make the most of your leisure time by making the big time at PLU. Our mission is to serve your organized recreational sports needs by proving opportunities for maximum participation. We want to help you have fun, stay fit and have fellowship with friends and foes, while you relieve stress, build memories and develop an active lifestyle than can bring you joy for years to come.
S - Sign up now! We have a sport for everyone. Signing up is simple. Pick up a sign up sheet and write down your full name, phone number, e-mail and resident hall. Forms are available from your Residence Hall Athletic Director, RHAD, download a copy form the Athletics/IM Sports web site, or outside of Olson 102. Activities offered for women, men and coed teams in over 20 different events each year. We have leagues in flag football, soccer, volleyball, basketball and softball. In each league you will play 7 45 minute games (1-2 per week). Single elimination playoffs follow league play for the top three teams.
P - Play at your own ability & interest level. You don't need to be the best - just give it your best shot.
O - One day all-campus tournaments. Are you shot on time? Then this is your change to play in your favorite activity. These tournaments take 1 to 3 hours to complete and are open all skill levels. One time tournaments than have been offered in the past are water sports, 1-on-1 hoops, wiffle ball, nerf football, aerobics, 3-on-3 hoops, floor hockey, March Madness (free through, 3 point, bump and hot shot shooting contests), beach volleyball, ultimate Frisbee and golf.
R - Rewarding. Try out a new sport and discover something new about yourself. You might have a killer spike to take down your opponent and the volleyball net or be super stealthy and become the next dodgeball champion.Try something new this semester and see where it takes you!
T - Take the IM sports challenge. To play or not to play? That is the question. Say yes to the challenge and we'll see you on the field.
