Students are permitted, within limits, to obtain credit by examination in lieu of regular enrollment and class attendance. No more than 30 credit hours by examination may be counted toward graduation.
To receive credit by examination:
First, complete a Credit by Examination Registration Form, available in the Office of the Registrar or on the wall display by the entrance to Student Services.
Second, obtain the signature of the instructor, and chair or dean of the appropriate department, and arrange for an examination.
Third, return the completed and signed form to the Office of the Registrar before the examination is taken and by the add/drop deadline for the appropriate term.
Grades for credit by examination will be submitted by the instructor along with all other grades at the end of the term. Credit by examination forms are processed by the Office of the Registrar. Students who earn Credit by Examination are charged a fee in addition to tuition. The Catalog will reflect the most current rates.
